Our Fading Future

Dear fellow Alumni,

A long term situation in our community has reached a point that it cannot continue to be ignored by us or any of society!

The future economic stability of ourselves, our children, and our state are at stake! This is more serious than I can express!

For too long we have ignored the horrific reports on the decline of the education system here in South Carolina. Our neglect in dealing with this situation has culminated in too many of our children being too far behind in knowledge that we, as a people, will suffer if we don't take our heads out of the sand and DO something NOW - instead of waiting for the racist segment to take us further into oblivion.

I've been working on a plan to overcome this evil for many years. Now is the time to increase the exposure to the public, however to do this I need your help in getting it done, unless you are satisfied with your child being on the bottom of the pile when success is just an effort away.

On September 4, and September 18, articles were published in the State Paper that are alarming to say the least. ,The school system has failed a great many of our children, in that they have been negligent in maintaining a viable education structure for our children. The failure comes by those who we put in positions that did the opposite of what they were intrusted to do. I'm Dr. Russell O. David. I'm willing to fight for your children, if you are! There is a way that this can be overcome immediately, as long as we stop believing the lies that we've been listening for the past 54 years. I graduated in 1962 when education really taught us something!

The specific reason that I'm making this appeal is that I know, with certainty, that the schools will not change anything that they're doing! All I get from them is silence and excuses!
